Expect a higher value from your investment in kitesurf lessons at Sethawadi Kite.
It’s not just the extra learning time that you don’t have to pay for. It’s about consistently higher safety practices, instruction standards, and efficiencies gained from our over 20 years of experience.
Our model is not the typical mass-market, assembly line, shortcut-driven approach that we unfortunately see so often around us. It's a foundation built on skills-based, structured progression with consciously applied safety practices throughout the process.
Our focus is on giving you the independence and depth of understanding that will help you progress smoothly with your kitesurfing in the long term. We include technical skills and details often skipped in other schools-- because we believe it's worth getting the process right!
Our instructor team is led by Chief Instructor Matt Kwantes, kiting for 25 years and one of the few kitesurf instructors to have received both the VDWS Instructor License and the IKO Senior Level 2 certificates. With over 20 years of developing training programs and a mindset of continuously learning how to do things better, he's here to help you maximise your results.

The Sethawadi Advantage: Flexible Payment System and Free "off-the-clock" Time
At Sethawadi Kite, you don't need to pay ahead of time, or get locked into a package price which forces you to pay for hours you don’t complete. You only pay for what you do from day to day, with a decreasing hourly rate.
The hourly rate comes with free, "off the clock" learning time. It's designed to help you make the most of your paid lesson, reinforce what you've learned, and help with understanding the technical details-- to progress faster by making the most from each lesson hour.
We hope you take advantage of these:
Free Technical Sessions:
This is relaxed "class" time, where we review and debrief the material you're working on, prepare you for upcoming steps, and help clear up those lingering uncertainties, or "floating question marks" as we call them. Here we also introduce important theory and technical points, so that we don't need to take up paid lesson time.
Free Lesson Auditing:
You are welcome to join along with any other lessons in progress during your off-time. This allows you to observe another student going through the steps you’re working on (or preparing for), and hear the instructor’s lesson points. It’s a preview/review of all the lesson content-- because many of the points along the way bear repeating.
You get “Homework”!
Yes, we also provide material for you to go through on your own time. The lesson handbook allows you to check off all the points you’re going through, and gives you practical points and procedures to study. And for each step along the way, we have carefully selected youtube videos to help you.
